WebNov 13, 2024 · I use my ffb2 for all FW190s, 109, UH1, A-10, F-14 and even F-18, the last of course without any benifits from ffb. I did a mod with a 18cm tube extension and resistors to double the force of ffb motors. WebFFB2 used USB. I personally preferred the FFB1, as the 2 had a rubberized coating that came off over time. Still, the FFB2 was a good stick. I bought what Best Buy claimed was the last unit in my state. Unfortunately, FFB2 would get finicky with W8/W10 often requiring a unplug/replug to get it working.

It powers the joystick and allows it to self-centre when you hold the stick. If you don't power it, it will be very difficult to centre the joystick on the null points for roll and pitch.
