WebWe have a EDM930 that keeps track of both tach and Hobbs time. Holding down two buttons will show the meter. For Tach you can set the reference RPM. I assume the 830 works the same way. For maintenance we use tach, and Hobbs for pilot logbook. And my partner and I charge ourselves using the tach.
